Painting the Third-Floor Suite
The inn doesn't see many guests during the month of November, but there's still plenty of work to do around the house. Laura has been spending most days painting. When the weather has been warm (and as far as Novembers go, this month has been unusually warm so far), she's been out on the lift painting windows on the second and third floor. When the weather is damp and cold, she's been inside working on the new third-floor suite.
She's just about wrapped up with the primers and white paints in the new room, and she'll start on the colors this weekend. (The bedroom will have some pale yellow accent walls, while the bathroom will have light blue.) Floors start to go in next week. The bedroom will have solid oak floors in a gunstock finish, while the bathroom will be have a heated tile floor. The floors will be done in a tumbled marble, with subway and bronze accent tiles on the walls.
With paint and flooring going in, it's beginning to feel like a much different space. The transformation from a 116-year-old storage room to a luxury suite is super striking. We can't wait to start hosting guests here in just a few more weeks!
